The Rich North Sea Toolbox is your information hub for nature enhancement in offshore wind farms, projects in the North Sea, and practical information about suppliers, permits, and more. As a platform created to inspire, the Toolbox can help the creative process of designing new nature inclusive projects. By using the information in this toolbox, sharing it with peers, or contributing your own projects and expertise, you’re supporting ongoing research and innovation for marine nature enhancement.

Projects contributing to The Toolbox
The Horizon Europe project “Nature-inclusive Designs for Reconciling Offshore Renewables with Ocean Protection” (NiD4OCEAN) aims to build a strong knowledge base for the emerging field of nature-inclusive designs (NiDs) in European seas. It maps current NiDs and fosters the creation of novel NiDs for offshore energy infrastructure, assessing their benefits and risks for marine ecosystems and coastal communities. The project’s ambition is to support the transition towards a sustainable blue economy, by providing science-based tailored solutions to industry and policymakers.
The mapping of NiDs conducted in the NiD4OCEAN has expanded the range of projects compiled in The Toolbox across all European Seas. Moreover, it has fostered the creation of a mitigation page and projects in the Toolbox. In this way, the project's results are shared and integrated into existing available information.
